Pictured is our future Chair of Women Working in Construction
WWIC are committed to working with Education and the community to dispel the stereotypical myths of Construction. The group aims to promote the industry to females of all ages to allow them to see the industry as accessible, with great career progression and many opportunities.
WWIC works with school groups to demystify what is meant by ‘the construction industry’. By allowing young people to see that women are successful in the sector and it is more than ‘a man’s world’ we aim to encourage more young people particularly females to enter the industry be that at a craft, technical or professional level. WWIC are also committed to encouraging females to enter the industry if they are considering a career change or re-entering work after a period of absence.
The Construction Industry offers a wide range of careers for any individual regardless of gender and we hope to inform, educate and change stereotypical views to make it a more viable career option for females.
