Women Working in Construction Group (WWIC)
The WWIC is for all women who work in the sector and the aim is to raise the profile of women in the industry.
Just as the best practice groups are pan industry and open to all, the intention is that this group should also be a place where members can meet, network and develop irrespective of their role, level or function within construction. We frequently extend an invitation to events to a mixed gender audience as we have found that even women specific events and opportunities can lean toward specialism and exclusion.

The group intent is to give more confidence and support to females in the industry and to encourage them to attend events of other organisations like professional bodies, best practice clubs, business networks, and particularly mixed gender groups specific to Construction.
Our outcomes will be to increase visibility and credibility of women who work in the sector in the Midlands, provide support where possible for women working in the sector, provide information via role models to those in the education, CPD sessions and training and support other groups in existence with similar intent.
The emphasis will be on working successfully in the industry rather than on the barriers and on enabling greater integration, collaboration and above all visibility.
